Plan An Awesome Kids Party In Less than 2 Weeks!
Timing is everything or so they say. This is definately the case for my poor baby boy who has a birthday in January. Due to this he sometimes gets the short end of the stick for his party. But not this year! I am going to tell how this not-so-crafty mom was still was able throw together an awesome party in less than 2 weeks! You see, mommy is coming off the holiday hangover. You may be familiar. This is when you have massive shoppers guilt about the money you spent and didn’t have during the holiday season. You are also drained because you have been running on empty while…

How I am jump starting my year!
Raise your hand if you are just not feeling it. What do I mean by ‘it’? Well, anything really……work, life, etc. More or less an overall excitement for what is now and what is ahead. I can’t compel myself to motivate on any level including write which has brought my blog to a screeching halt! Not that I was ever a R.L. Stein or anything but I just can’t seem bring myself to sit down, focus and share. I wish I could say this was just the case with writing. In A Funk Usually come January, I am all into the new year. I am setting resolutions, making plans, getting…

How I Manage Grief During the Holidays
December 1st is always bittersweet for me. It is the start of one of the most wonderful months of the year. But at the same time it is a reminder of what has been lost. My mother would be 66 on 12/1 if she were still alive. (Although she would likely not admit it.) We would likely be trimming my mom’s Christmas tree to celebrate while welcoming a month of family, fun and traditions. TRADITIONS Growing up we spent many of her birthdays buying or decorating our Christmas tree. And what a production that was. Most things were when it had to do with birthdays holidays. It was also part…

My Ramblings on Summer: The Donna Summer Musical
New Season. New Seats. New Shows (well some at least). October was our first show in the 2019-2020 Broadway series at the Playhouse Theater. The series opened up with the sounds of the disco queen in Summer The Donna Summers Musical. Here are the rest of the shows on the list: -The Band’s Visit -Mean Girls -Anastasia -Jesus Christ Superstar -My Fair Lady -Frozen Not that I remember my initial reaction to every season well, but I am thinking this one probably elicits the least amount of excitement from me. My exception is Jesus Christ Superstar which is one of my all time favorite shows, however, rarely does it meet…

Can You Stay Happy?
How often do you stop to think about what makes you happy? I can tell you that before taking part of 100 days of Happy challenge, I did not. Just pushing through the daily grind is what I was doing. In August a fellow blogging friend at https://practicallyminimal.com, posted on her Instagram account about this challenge she was starting and invited people to join her in this journey. And so I DID! So what exactly was it? I liked the sounds of it but needed more info. So I checked out the website http://100happydays.com/ and here is what I learned: *You need to find a picture a day to represent…

Keep reading for some ways to enjoy this all inclusive holiday. For some Halloween is the one day a year some people truly let go and be themselves. For others it is a time where you get to tap into your creative side. Decorating, creating a costume or making a spooky related craft. It is not a holiday with a ton of expectations and demands from your…

My Ramblings On My Broadway visit to Hadestown
I did that thing I have been waiting to do for years! I saw a Tony Award-Winning show ON BROADWAY!!!! Ok, to be fair I would have settled on any show on Broadway but this makes it all the better. So let’s talk about my entire Broadway-night-with-the-ladies experience, starting with picking a show. Let me start by saying that for my 40th birthday, my present to myself was to go to NYC and see some Broadway shows with some of my closest friends. But What Should We See? Initially, I thought this would be easy peasy. Pick a show, get tickets. Sadly, not so much since my BFF, Pam, and…

Movies to Prep for NYC With!
With less than a month left until the big NYC For 40 Girls Getaway, I have been getting in the zone! Researching on Pinterest, blogs, You Tube and my favorite…..movies! What better way to get pumped than by throwing a good ole movie on the boob tube that features the Big Apple and it’s renowned landmarks? Entertainment and research all in one! (I did this for Disney too. What can I say, I am obsessed with entertainment!) Now off the top of my head, I could only think of a couple movies with NYC and they were not even very good. SOOO, what else was a girl to do but…

My Ramblings on Come From Away
Come From Away is one of the smartest shows I have ever seen! I absolutely loved it and cannot wait to tell you why! It is not very often that I am impressed by the originality of a show and how it was written and produced. But Come From Away has become an exception. So let’s talk about this musical! The Story…. Let me start by saying that when watching a musical I prefer to keep my knowledge of what it is about to a minumum otherwise I am disappointed. Going into Come from Away here is what I thought I knew: The show is about the interaction between a…
